On July 4, 2024, an ocular visit was conducted at the Daycare Center of Andres Bonifacio in Diffun, Quirino. This visit was attended by Barangay Captain Cesar Valencia, Daycare Center Teacher, Ms. Siena Matias, Ms. Monica D. Hernando, RL, MSLS, the University Librarian, and Ms. Devine Bautista, LPT, the In-charge of Graduate Studies Section at Quirino State University-Knowledge Center. The team was warmly welcomed and given a tour of the daycare facilities, where they observed the daily activities of the school.
The said daycare center will be the target recipient for the conduct of a story telling program and establishment of a reading center. This activity is an extension program of the QSU Knowledge Center in pursuit of its academic endeavor.
During the visit, discussions focused on ways to improve the daycare center’s resources and educational programs. A key highlight was the future plan to establish a small library at the daycare center, aimed at fostering a love for reading and learning among the children. This collaborative effort emphasized the importance of community involvement in enhancing early childhood education. The visit highlighted the commitment of local leaders and educational institutions to support and nurture the development of young learners in the community.
