Complexity and Dynamics – Settlement and Landscape from the Bronze Age to the Renaissance in the Nordic Countries (1700 BC-AD 1600)

This volume assembles contributions from two conferences in  2019. The first was a session entitled “What is a village? Challenging concepts and methods of Iron Age and medieval villages, hamlets and single settlements”, held at the European Association of Archaeologists in Bern in  2019, organised by Marie Ødegaard (Museum of Cultural History, University of Oslo/Museum of Archaeology, University of Stavanger), Lars Erik Gjerpe (Museum of Cultural History, University of Oslo) and Mads Dengsø Jessen (National Museum of Denmark).
