Hotel and Restaurant Administration (HRA) as a baccalaureate program was first offered by the University of the Philippines in 1970, in response to the growing demand for well-trained professionals to work in an expanding tourism as well as hotel and restaurant industry. Since then, many schools all over the Philippines have adopted the program.
