Philosophers of ancient India designed education to be a personal process involving an osmotic exchange of essences between teachers and taught. Three conditions regulate this personal pedagogy, the conditions of unity and continuity of relations and the principle of substitution (Padmanabhan, 1932). The condition of unity of relations was arrived at because very young children, prefer to love intimately one person and to be guided solely by her.
